Category: Comparisons
Compare the Aliens Series 12 Vasquez figure with the Alien: Earth Ultimate Xenomorph on scale, articulation, and display presence to decide which Alien 7-inch figure joins your collection first.
Quick answer
If you want a human hero with movie-faithful Marine detail, start with the Aliens Series 12 Vasquez figure. If you want a creature centerpiece with more posing options, choose the Alien: Earth Ultimate Xenomorph.
Scale and presence on the shelf
Vasquez stands about 6.5 inches tall, while the Ultimate Xenomorph is a 7-inch scale figure. That half-inch difference matters less than silhouette: a human Marine reads as part of a squad, while a Xenomorph reads as the threat looming over it. If your shelf already has several human characters, the Xenomorph adds visual contrast; if you are building a Hadley's Hope scene, Vasquez anchors the human side.
Articulation and posing trade-offs
Vasquez has over 25 points of articulation, which supports natural stances and weapon handling for a Marine in BDUs. The Ultimate Xenomorph instead emphasizes creature-specific movement with an articulated jaw, inner mouth, and bendable tail. The trade-off is focus: Vasquez gives you a poseable soldier, while the Xenomorph gives you a poseable monster. Neither is better in the abstract—pick the posing style you will actually use.
Source material and collection theme
The Vasquez figure is themed to the events at Hadley's Hope in Aliens, with her alternate outfit and movie-faithful Marine gear. The Ultimate Xenomorph is based on the creatures from FX's Alien: Earth. That means the two figures come from different corners of the Alien universe. If you want a tight Aliens movie shelf, Vasquez fits immediately; if you are collecting across Alien projects, the Xenomorph represents the newer show.
Key trade-offs
- Display focus: Choose Vasquez if you want a recognizable human face and Marine detail on the shelf; choose the Xenomorph if you want a creature silhouette that dominates the display. Decide which visual role your collection is missing before you buy.
- Posing style: Vasquez offers over 25 points of articulation for natural human stances; the Xenomorph offers an articulated jaw, inner mouth, and bendable tail for creature-specific poses. Match the articulation type to the poses you will actually set up.
- Collection continuity: Vasquez is tied to the Aliens Hadley's Hope setting, while the Xenomorph comes from Alien: Earth. If you are strict about movie continuity, pick the one that matches your existing shelf. Check which Alien story your current figures already represent.
