Why NECA Alien Figures Are a Must-Have for Collectors

NECA has long been the go-to brand for horror and sci-fi collectibles, and their Alien line is no exception. The attention to detail, articulation, and accessories make these figures stand out. Each figure is designed with the fan in mind, capturing the essence of the characters from the films. Whether you're a fan of the original 1979 movie or the more recent installments, there's a NECA Alien figure that will fit your taste.

One of the biggest draws of NECA Alien figures is their versatility. They can be displayed in dynamic poses, paired with other figures from the franchise, or even used in dioramas. The quality of the sculpts and paint applications is consistently high, making them a favorite among serious collectors. Plus, with the variety of characters and variants available, you can build a collection that tells the story of the entire Alien saga.

• Look for figures with multiple points of articulation for dynamic display options.
• Check for accessories like interchangeable heads, hands, and weapons to enhance your display.

Top Picks: Classic and Modern NECA Alien Figures

When it comes to the best NECA Alien figures, there are a few standouts that every collector should consider. One of the most iconic is the Aliens - Ultimate Kenner Tribute Panther Alien 7" Scale Action Figure. This figure pays homage to the classic Kenner toy line while delivering modern NECA quality. With its striking black and orange color scheme, it's a unique addition to any collection and a must-have for fans of the retro aesthetic.

Another excellent choice is the Aliens - Series 12 - Vasquez 7" Scale Action Figure (BDUs). Vasquez is one of the most beloved characters from Aliens, and this figure captures her tough-as-nails attitude perfectly. With her iconic pulse rifle and detailed BDUs, she's a great centerpiece for a Colonial Marines display. Plus, her inclusion in the series makes her a must-have for completists.

For those who prefer the original film, the Alien franchise offers plenty of options. While not listed above, figures like the Big Chap and the Alien Warrior are classics. However, the Kenner tribute line offers a fresh take on the Xenomorph with unique color variants that stand out on the shelf. If you're looking for something truly distinctive, the Panther Alien is a top pick.

• Consider the Panther Alien for a unique color variant that pops on the shelf.
• Vasquez is essential for building a Colonial Marines display.

What to Look For When Buying NECA Alien Figures

When shopping for NECA Alien figures, there are several factors to consider to ensure you get the best value. First, check the articulation. NECA figures are known for their poseability, but some older releases may have limited movement. Look for figures with multiple points of articulation, especially in the hips, shoulders, and neck, to allow for dynamic poses.

Second, examine the accessories. Many NECA Alien figures come with a variety of extras, such as interchangeable hands, heads, and weapons. These can significantly enhance your display options, so it's worth paying a little extra for a figure that comes with a good selection. For example, the Ultimate line often includes multiple heads and hands, making them great for customization.

Finally, consider the condition of the packaging if you're a mint-in-box collector. Some figures, like the Predator 2 - City Hunter Poster Series 7” Scale Action Figure (PRE-ORDER), come in special packaging that is a work of art in itself. If you plan to keep your figures in the box, look for ones with attractive packaging that will look good on display.

• Always check the articulation range before buying, especially for older figures.
• Look for figures with multiple accessories to get more value for your money.
• If you're a mint-in-box collector, pay attention to the packaging design.

Building a Collection: Tips for Alien Fans

Building a NECA Alien collection can be a rewarding experience, but it's important to have a plan. Start by deciding on a focus, whether it's the original film, Aliens, or the Kenner tribute line. This will help you narrow down your choices and avoid impulse buys that don't fit your theme.

Another tip is to keep an eye out for pre-orders and exclusives. NECA often releases figures that are only available for a limited time, such as convention exclusives. These can become highly sought after and increase in value over time. If you see a figure you love, don't hesitate to pre-order it to ensure you don't miss out.

Finally, consider how you'll display your collection. Whether you prefer to keep your figures in the box or pose them on a shelf, having a plan will help you enjoy your collection more. You can even create themed displays, like a Xenomorph invasion scene or a Colonial Marines squad, to showcase your figures in action.

• Decide on a focus for your collection to stay consistent.
• Pre-order rare figures to avoid missing out on limited releases.
• Plan your display to make the most of your collection.

NECA Alien figures offer something for every collector, from nostalgic Kenner tributes to detailed Ultimate releases. Whether you're drawn to the classic Xenomorph or the brave Marines, there's a figure that will make a great addition to your collection. Start with the Panther Alien or Vasquez to build a solid foundation, and don't forget to explore other gems like the Predator 2 City Hunter. Happy collecting!
